VW 010 Issue 0 2 PLEASE BE ADVI SED: Before assembling the Valley - Walk for the first time, it is highly recommended that Installers famili a rise themselves with the component parts and carry out a test assembly and disassembly in a safe area away from the point of final installation. All component parts detailed in the operating instructions must be used in the assembly of the system. Should a piece be missing or appear defective do not contin ue to assemble and contact Easi - Dec Immediately. Step1 Step 2 Lay out the components ready for assembly . The valley - Walk is in folded co ndition with Velcro straps. Release the Velcro st raps and unfold the valley - Walk. Step 3 Step 4 Re move the pin from the bottom rail and release the Velcro strap. Lower the bottom Rail to the floor while an operative holds the main frame. Step 5 Step 6 Repeat Steps 3 & 4 for the opposite side of the valley - Walk. Stand the second half of the Valley - Walk up and release the Velcro stra ps.

Slide the bottom end rail sockets over t he main frame rails and attach the supplied pin and ‘R’ clip, ensuring its firmly fixed into position, See FIG1 REMEMBER: Repeat this for the opposite side of the Valley - Walk. Swing the top rail into pos ition and lock the clamp onto the rail. The clamps have a quick fit mechanism, but ensure it’s firmly clamped . REMEMBER: Repeat this for the opposite side of the Valley - Walk. See FIG 2. Step 9 Step 10 Fig 3. Lowering the panel frame Stand inside the Valley - Walk, remove the pins that connect the verge panel frame to the inner top rail and lower into position. See FIG 3. REMEMBER: Repeat this for the opposite side of the Valley - Walk. Depending on the angle of the roof valley , adjustment can be made through the telescopic braces. Remove the pins and move the p anel frame into position remembering to hold onto the frame. Line up holes in the telescopic brace and replace pins. There are two telescopic braces each side and both pins need to be removed for adjustment. Step 11 When moving the Valley - Walk into position, one or two operatives need to stand inside the Valley - Walk and lif t using the TOP or MID rail as a hand hold. Remember • ALWAYS FAMILIARI S E YOURSELF WITH THE VALLEY WALK ‘ INFORMATION FOR USE ’ DOCUMENT BEFORE STARTING ANY WORKS. • Never step out of the Valley W alk frame once in the Valley/Gutter. • Wear a Safety Harness and connect a short Lanyard as a reminder not to step out of the frame . • Work to the HSE Working at Height G uidelines and Working on Fragile Roof Guidelines at all times. • Do not use in adverse weather conditions. • Ass e ss the roof for condition and suitability. Complete a risk assessment. The Valley walker does not provide Fall Arrest or Restrain. • Always make sure all P in and ‘R ’ clips are secured. Dismantle : Reverse the above procedure.
